Joss Whedon Greenlights Dr. Horrible 2

Joss Whedon, everything you touch turns to gold, pure, good-hearted, nerdy gold. From Firefly to The Avengers, you have created so much for us. Your side project Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog was fantastic. It featured Firefly’s Nathan Fillon, The Guild’s Felicia Day, and the one and only NPH (Neil Patrick Harris). It showcased the inner workings of an evil mastermind who just wanted to experience love. Damn you Captain Hammer!

Joss Whedon just announced that between The Avengers 2 and S.H.I.E.L.D he plans on continuing smaller projects such as Dr. Horrible 2. Whedon explained it helps him stay closer to fans who are used to seeing new materials quite rapidly.

Who else is excited?

Daily Track: Sufjan Stevens – Give A Little Love

Sufjan you sneaky man you. You thought you could contain an unreleased demo tape exclusively to your tumblr followers? Oh no, no, no. This track is a deleted demo track Sufjan recorded in 2010. He claims to have found it on an old hard drive, and while I find it to have a tad too much auto tune it is still a track I can get in to.

The Manliest Hanger in the World: Introducing The Man Hanger

The hanger a simple tool, left relatively untouched for many years. Typically a hanger is made of cheap materials like plastics or very thin aluminum, but that left some of us wanting more. Some of us wanted a more durable hanger, one that would hold up against the test of time. BODE Goods saw this opportunity and created quite possibly the strongest hanger of all time. This one is made from rebar, material typically reserved for holding concrete together for large buildings. It is bent to shape with industrial tools and will not flop, bend, or snap when throwing a large winter coat on it.

Buy it over at BODE Goods.

Why have a Building When You can Have a City? The Apple City

Why would Apple choose to go with a boring circular space ship-esque headquarters when they could have had an entire city? One architect believe in the idea and event went as far as creating it and sending it to Steve Jobs just a few short months before he passed away. The center of town would be dedicated to offices and of course a high ceiling, glass fronted Apple retail store. The architect, Helil Schocken, brought this project to his students at Tel Aviv University. He does note though that he never expected to recieve a response from Apple even after putting so much work and time into the project, as he believes the company has too many secrets to be exposed as the center of a town.

Google Offering Chosen “Explorers” an Opportunity to Buy Glass at Full Price

glass

Ready to immerse yourself into the world of wearable technology. The newest and hottest piece of technology could very well be Google Glass. A product that has this far only been seen worn by high level Google Executives, such as Sergey Brin. The product resembles traditional glasses but only has a piece of glass covering one eye and has a small camera and screen embedded it. It acts as a HUD (heads up display), and should be made available later this year for the price of $1,500. It will be controlled primarily via voice commands. That my friends is the price of early adoption.

Google has launched a program on Google+ and twitter asking people to tweet or +1 50 words or less with the hashtag #ifihadglass, what they would do or create with the hardware. The best ideas will be provided with the title of “Explorer” and they will given an amazing prize…the opportunity to buy a pair of glasses at the price of $1,500. Thanks Big G…
